Try renaming each add-in one at a time to determine which may be the culprit. I built my own gaming pc, so it's not like I am completely clueless with computers. Right click and then in the drop down menu click on "Troubleshoot Compatibility". I would be happy if the solution was very easy, and I could look like an idiot for not knowing how to fix it and saying all of these things. The current workaround is to save the documents created from the templates as Word 2003 files, but this isn't ideal as all company documents should be saved as Word 2007 files. I believe that in the control panel where you add/remove programs, there should also be an option to repair/change.
Basically Word starts using 100% of the CPU and any text entered takes more than a few seconds to appear on the screen. With this computer I kept the task manage opened to view at all times.

CPU usage is still up to 50% when scrolling through the document but this drops when I stop scrolling and Word won't become unresponsive. Following this incident, and several like it with Office 2013 that seems not to interest MS anymore with good QA of updates, we upgraded the company to Office 2016 365 and One by one, copy the paragraphs from the source document to the target document. If you can't add more memory, you can break your documents into smaller, more manageable documents.
