Click the checkboxes to the left of each of the svchost.exe processes (or just those that you care about). Suddenly I had the CPU going crazy high, the fans were acting like crazy. I have to shut off all instances of the msexe.exe then quickly hit the run (install) before they start baack up..What is up with that? When I shut down Ubuntu, it turns off my DSL line, and when Windows comes up, it doesn.t turn it back on.

and basicalllly crash the laptop. AVG wouldn't touch it. The windows update process "wuauserv" was completely consuming the single core CPU so that the machine would do nothing in W7 unless wuauserv was disabled. Sweet!!
It'll also have a number next to it and if you expand the item out by clicking the arrow, you will also see every service running under that particular process. thats what i needed.. Just went back to try updating but now it just says 'Checking for updates...'.
